Oh my goodness. Finally, an update. Anyways it's been so long since the last update. I felt the blog itself needed to be, erm, "revamped". So I changed the link lists, reorganized them, and sketched out a really quick drawing for the new banner. I drew inspiration from my last banner, a head and feathers. The second pic posted was the previous banner. I think there's some improvement from..my goodness a little over a full year now. Time sure does fly.
Anyways, although this site has been neglected, I've done an at best mediocre job updating my DeviantART account here:

hazardous candy
Ug what a quarter it has been so far. The first week of school our hallway got flooded and so we were evacuated to Tybee island. At least I got to do some kung fu on the beach. That was nice.
But the workload has been insane so far.
My 3D design project was a nightmare. I had to make a giant fruit out of something "ironic". I made a Lychee out of candy- BAD idea. Everything was great until the candy, which was sticky and began to melt, then broke off when the thing fell of my desk. ug. I have cuts and burns all over my fingers from the hot glue gun.
My life drawing class is much more fun, but a lot of work. We had to draw our own "cannon of proportion" based on the one created by Dr. Paul Richer, author of our textbook, "Artistic Anatomy."I really like my teacher- he's odd, but incredible. Here's mine (sorry for crappy photo quality.) It was alright but I was trying to make an "ideal" drawing based off a picture of a woman with an oversized arse...so it looks a little strange around the bootay...(and short because we're using 7.5 heads instead of the more "Artistic" 8 head figure.)

Well im exhausted and my room is a disaster thanks to that frustrating fruit...better get cleaning.

i have nothing to show for art except a couple works in progress and some sketches. It's a bit lame actually. None of these are for a class or anything, all for fun or gifts for friends at school.
1. A drawing of a friend's character. He was going to draw me a portrait in return but neither one of us ever finished. I don't know if or when ill pick this up again.
2. A small commission.
3. A quick live portrait of my friend Erik. He is a photography major at SCAD.
4. just a face for fun.
5. Again, just for fun. the beginnings of a conceptual illustration for a children's book I started writing.

I am home again for a very long winter brake. I arrived tired, sick, and grumpy yesterday night from three long flights from Georgia. Today I taught myself to drive again, stopped by "Pudding on the Rice," a place I used to work at, bought a magazine, and said hi to an old friend. By the time I got home it was still early, and I was already bored out of my mind. So I looked to the future. I am going to have to take some sequential art classes in order to get my storyboarding minor, so I thought i may as well start practicing. I decided to start a comic based on a project I've had in my mind since last year. Unable to rough out a solid enough portion of the story, I became frustrated and just attempted the cover instead.
Also, my friend Nick gave me the complete Adobe CS3 master collection, Microsoft Office, and Maya 2008, which is probably the best gift I've ever received in my life. So thanks Nick!
Melissa and I are invading Lakeridge on Wednesday.

Classes for the quarter are as we approach midterms, is Drawing for Storyboarding, Advanced Survey of Computer Applications, and Composition. I was successful in skipping three classes, thus pushing me forward an entire quarter. I am the only freshman in most of my classes, but I don't mind it. In storyboarding we had just finished a 30 second commercial for "Dark Chocolate Snickers." We also have to do 200 gesture drawings- I'll post those soon. In computer class we are moving into learning Maya! I first made the head of a cat and now I am moving into making a woman set in an imaginary landscape. It will be tough but interesting.
Right now I am a little overwhelmed with my own hunger. I want to learn everything! Every tiny piece of knowledge I can pilfer from this college is at my disposal, but there is simply too much. I am going to try to major in Animation with a double minor in both Storyboarding and Concept Art. When I reach grad school, I want to double major in Animation and Design Management. We'll see where this goes.
I love SCAD more and more everyday. My father called me this morning to plan my trip home for winter break, and I realized that I did not want to return. After all this time away from home, I am finally ready to grow up. I have so many ambitions for my future; going home is like a step back.
Then again, I can't wait to see Lake Oswego. I do miss the dojo and my old friends. Maybe I'll even stop by school again to say hi.
